Delete my account

Last updated 5 Oct 2026

You can ask us to delete your BidBayt account at any time. This page explains what happens when you do, what we are able to remove, and what we are required to keep.

How to ask

Use the form on this page. We send a code to the email address you give us and you enter it — that check is what stops anybody queuing a stranger’s account for deletion. Your request then goes to a person, who reviews it and comes back to you.

What we remove

Your name, email address, phone number, date of birth, nationality, identity document numbers and the scans of those documents — the files are deleted from our storage, not only the records of them. Your password, your saved notifications, your notification settings, your registered devices and your favourites go with them, and your account can no longer be signed in to. The details on this request itself are overwritten once it is approved, so the queue our team works from stops naming you too.

What we keep, and why

Bids, awards, wallet entries, settlements and audit records are financial and regulatory records. UAE law requires us to keep them, and an auction’s record has to remain complete for everyone else who took part in it. They are kept under your paddle number with your personal details removed, so the auction reconciles without naming you.

Support tickets you opened are kept as well. A complaint is a record about the company or the auction it names as much as it is about you, and deleting it would remove the evidence somebody else’s case rests on. The conversation stays, with you shown on it as “Deleted account” rather than by name.

Before you ask

Settle anything outstanding first. An account with a deposit still held, a bid currently winning a lot that has not closed, an award nobody has settled or a refund in progress cannot be closed until those are finished — we will tell you which applies rather than leaving the request in a queue. Closing an account mid-auction would lock you out of a lot you are winning, so the check refuses rather than proceeds.

What stays, and what goes

Bids, awards, wallet entries and audit records are kept under your paddle number, because UAE law requires them and an auction's record has to stay complete for everyone else who took part in it. Everything else — your name, contact details and documents — is removed.
