What BidBayt collects, why, and who sees it.
These are the rules already decided and already binding. The complete terms are published before the first auction opens.
What we collect
Your name, email address and UAE mobile number; the identity documents you upload for verification; your bidding, registration and payment history; and technical data such as the address you connect from and the device you use.
Why we collect it
To run auctions and tell you what is happening in them, to meet UAE identity and anti-money-laundering obligations, to take and release deposits, and to settle what is owed after an auction closes.
Who sees it
Your name is not public by default: the bid ledger shows a paddle number, and showing more is a choice you make in your account. Identity documents are seen only by the staff reviewing them. Sellers see what they need to complete a transaction with a winning bidder.
How long we keep it
For as long as your account is open, and afterwards for as long as UAE law requires us to keep records of a transaction. Audit records of an auction outlive the accounts that took part in it.
What you can ask for
A copy of the data we hold about you, a correction to it, or deletion of your account. Deletion does not remove records we are legally required to keep, and we will say which those are.
