Terms of Use
Last updated 5 Oct 2026
What you agree to when you bid on BidBayt.
These are the rules already decided and already binding. The complete terms are published before the first auction opens.
A bid is a binding offer
Every bid you place is an offer you cannot withdraw. If your bid wins, you are committed to it, together with the commission and fees published on that lot before you bid.
Your deposit is held, not spent
A security deposit is ring-fenced for the auction you registered for. It is not passed to the seller while the auction runs, and it is released once the auction closes and any obligation on you is settled.
Prices exclude VAT; fees do not
Bid amounts are exclusive of VAT. VAT at 5% applies to our commission and to platform fees, and is shown as its own line before you commit to anything.
Our records are the reference
Bid times, bid amounts, automatic extensions and the auction clock are recorded by the platform. Those electronic records are the binding reference for any question about what happened in an auction.
You bid as yourself
An account belongs to one person or one company and may not be shared. Registering for an auction requires identity verification, and bidding on behalf of someone else requires written authority we have accepted.
